Chico Chip Company is a snack food startup dedicated to redefining what rice chips can be. Founded in Chico in 2026, the company was created with a simple goal: make a better rice chip, one that delivers superior crunch, flavor, and ingredient quality compared to existing options on the market.

What We Make

Chico Chip Company produces premium rice chips crafted to outperform competitors in both taste and texture. Our chips are designed for consumers who want a lighter, better-for-you snack without sacrificing satisfaction. We have a simple ingredient list with no added unnecessary ingredients.  These rice chips utilize a process that isn't like your standard tortilla chip, we use whole ingredients that produce a restaurant-style tortilla chip.

Who We Are

Chico Chip Company aims to become a trusted, nationally recognized rice chip brand known for quality, integrity, and flavor while staying rooted in the creativity and community of Chico, California. Matt Slem, our founder and CEO of Chico Chip Company, graduated with a Bachelors degree in Nutrition and Food Science at California State University, Chico. It's our mission to create a rice chip that clearly outperforms competitors in crunch, flavor, and ingredient integrity. We blend food science with a consumer-first mindset and strong local roots to deliver a superior snacking experience.
